A collection of my old boards on loan & displayed in the Australia Surfing Museum

A collection of my old boards on loan & displayed in the Australia Surfing Museum in Torquay, Victoria. Three Aipa Stings & a Brewer. The Stings were shaped by Ben Aipa & manufactured about 44 years ago in Hawaii. All three were the same dimensions, 6’8″ long. 201/4″ wide & somewhere between 27/8″ & 3″ thick. The Flame spray was the first board I got from Ben in 1976. I rode it in the Rip Curl Bells event & Coca Cola 2SM Surfabout in Sydney that year. The ones with King Kong & the Water Wiggle spray were made in 1977. I rode King Kong in the Stubbies event at Burleigh Heads that year. The Brewer with the Superman spray was shaped by Dick & was the same dimensions as the Aipa’s. It had Double wings with the first wing in the same position as a Sting Wing. This wing was only 1/2″ deep instead of the usual 1″ deep Sting wing. I have always owned the Flame board but I’d sold all the others by the early 1980’s. Over the years I’ve managed to buy them all back again. The spray art on all the boards was done by Al Dove. @australianationalsurfingmuseum @dick_brewer @aipasurf @akila_aipa @dukeaipa @aipaperu @aipa.br @bellst204 @markrichardssurfboardsapparel @bernie_baker1 #markrichardssprays #benaipa #benaipasurfboards #dickbrewersurfboards #dickbrewer
