A shot of me at Bells during the Rip Curl Bells Beach Easter Pro

A shot of me at Bells during the Rip Curl Bells Beach Easter Pro. I think it was taken 39 years ago in 1980. I was riding a 6’2″, 201/4″ wide & 27/8″ thick Twin Fin that I’d shaped, sprayed & glassed. Ive never seen this photo until it was posted by @silversurfer0161 & there were a few comments regarding the deck Color, lack of MR logo & No visible Wax. I was using a full deck of Astro Deck traction which actually felt slippery to touch dry as it was smooth but grippy once wet. In those days there were sections of the car park that were unsealed & preparing for a surf by the time you got to the water the soles of your feet were covered with soil / clay / ? ( not sure exactly what was in the soil there ?? But my feet always felt slippery surfing at Bells ). The traction problems there with wax were a confidence killer so the Astro Deck was my solution to the problem. It worked really well. Sorry don’t know who took the photo ? @quiksilver @adamrobbo1 @ripcurl_newcastle @markrichardssurfboardsapparel @seano888 @surfview @ripcurl_aus @ripcurl_usa @neilridgway @ripcurl_europe @bellst204 #markrichardssurfboards #markrichardssprays #markrichardscolordesigns #mrtwinfin #mrretrotwinfin #twinfinsrule #twinfinfever #twinfinfevercatchit #twinfinsforever #mr1980retrotwinfin #mr1980retrotwinfinmodel #mr1980retroprotwinfin #mr1980retroprotwinfinmodel #ripcurlpro #ripcurlprobellsbeach #ripcurlbellsbeachpro #ripcurlprobells
