This is one of my back up Skil 100 planer’s, it’s my second favourite & it has been seriously well cared for. They are highly prized as they are no longer available to buy new. Originally designed for builders & carpenters but discovered by surfboard shaper’s quickly becoming a favourite & the planer of choice for a lot of shaper’s. This one had an 181/2″ long base & is now 14″ long, ( I cut 41/2″ off the “rear foot” ). Where I used to shape in an old timber building I was so paranoid about it burning down that I would take my 2 Skil’s home with me every night. I did this for about a year before I figured I was just being stupid, there was more chance of the car being broken into & the planer’s stolen than an overnight fire in the building. My Skil’s are still on American 110 voltage, I run them through an Aussie 240 volt Transformer to convert to 110… I posted a photo & history of my first Skil yesterday & Rusty left an epic comment detailing his planer’s history, it’s worth going back to my previous post & reading his words. @rustypreisendorfer @robin_prodanovich @kazumasurfboards @rawsonsurfboard @aleutianjuice @dahlbergsurfboards @stamps_surf @mayhemb3_mattbiolos @quiksilver @euroglass @stephenisbelly @cidoubleyou @slimes_surf_skate @mikypicon @pierre_agnes @mikereilly1 @samueltgriffiths #markrichardssurfboards #markrichardsshapes #markrichardsshaping #skil100 #skil100planer
