A photo from 1977 at Burleigh Heads on the ” Goldy” during the Stubbies event

A photo from 1977 at Burleigh Heads on the ” Goldy” during the Stubbies event. I’m riding a Ben Aipa shaped single fin Sting which was 6’8″, 201/4″ wide & 27/8″ thick. It was shot during a heat as I’m wearing Stubbies shorts which were used instead of coloured rash shirts. (first pro event with man on man heats). This is the board with the King Kong spray on the bottom which is now on display in the Australian Surfing Museum in Torquay. The photo is a frame from some vision shot by Col Al Benson.
