I know I’m bordering on overkill posting the spray process on this board, so promise this is the last one. The finished spray on the 7’0″ 1979 Retro Single Fin. The Lightning Yellow on the LHS is from the same container of paint I used on the original boards in 1979. I had about 1/2 a container left & amazingly after 39 years it had not gone off in the container. It was a bit thick & lumpy but it thinned OK with water & I used a strainer to get the small lumps out. I’m not making this up, totally true, it’s 39 year old water based paint & it did smelt foul. Possibly the quality of paint was better back then & over the years I did shake the container regularly. See last photo for a shot of the container. #markrichardsshapes #markrichardsshaping #markrichardssprays #markrichardscolordesigns #markrichardssurfboards #mrsinglefin #mrretrosinglefin #mr1979retrosinglefin #mr1979retrosinglefinmodel #mr1979retrocontestquiver #mr1979hawaiicontestquiver @fiberglasshawaii
