On the front lawn of the Surfection board store in Byron Bay last Tuesday evening. Dean Shoppe who owns the store is holding a 6’4″ twin fin which is the board I was riding at Off The Wall in the photo on the cover of my book. I’m holding one of the first boards I shaped in Dick Brewers room at Chuns Reef in 1977 on the North Shore. It was a custom single fin for my friend Leonard Brady & for its age it’s in immaculate condition. Luke Carter is holding a 6’8″ single fin “Sting” shaped by the inventor of the Sting design Ben Aipa. This was one of my boards & I rode it in the Rip Curl Bells Pro in 1976. All 3 boards are now owned by Luke who lives on the “Sunny” coast. It was awesome to get to see & feel them again, they brought back lots of memories. @dean_sho2 @chris_athas @ljmrc @surfectionbyron @dick_brewer @aipasurf @dukeaipa @quiksilver @ripcurl_aus @mikypicon @pierre_agnes #markrichardssurfboards #markrichardsshapes #mrtwinfin #mrretrotwinfin #mrretrosinglefin @bernie_baker1 @luisrealcollection
